Title: ”Roadside Chicken"

Artist Statement: The Roadside Chicken can be found almost everywhere these days, as ubiquitous as the roadside hubcap, and increasingly in suburban and urban settings. It epitomizes the farm to table movement, and new appreciation of locally produced food. The belly of the chicken is decorated with grasses, seeds, and apple and clover leaves, which a a chicken forages on and turns to eggs and meat. It's shape is defined by the arch of row cover poles, with broken garden tools for tail, beak and comb. The reflective eye reminds us that we all, fundamentally, are what we eat. Of course, this chicken is green!
