Artist Statement:
My Hubcap Chandelier, made from discarded plastic objects, and my garbage bag dress are an invitation to feel, visualize and express what dwells within us. I wanted to create something beautiful out of discarded objects. I chose plastic as my medium to Reuse and Fuse the idea of garbage and beauty in the hopes to raise awareness of the need to protect and preserve our natural resources.
Why:
I am drawn to collaborative projects and community; each year I am involved with the Warwick Arts Festival and create a piece of work for this wonderful themed event.
