I'm writing a picture book called Junk Boy. The protagonist is named Edward and he collects junk. Edward's parents aren't happy about the amount of junk he has collected. His collection is huge, gigantic, even. It reaches his ceiling and covers the floor.  It spreads through his room and surrounds his door. Edward's parents insist that he get rid of the junk and clean his room but Edward does not clean up. Instead, he locks himself in his room and begins to make things out of the junk. He emerges with birds made from garden tools, an alligator made from an old tire, a moose made from an old barrel, a robot made from this and that and a sunflower made from a hubcap. He sets his creations up in his front yard and the neighbors come to see. They whisper and smile. They talk and laugh and some of them are inspired to make things too. Soon the neighborhood is filled with color while people come from all over to see what Edward and his neighbors have created.
